Tonight was an absolute success and we didn’t make a dime!

Showing my new friends and one of my Girl Scouts how to make wands.

Tonight Bryan and I gave a wand demonstration at the Harry Potter Magical Holiday Ball at our local Barnes and Noble. We got to do my one of my favorite things in the world – teach others how to make the wands we love and sell. The entire night was a success and while BN was only expecting about 30-35 people, they said that they had about 200 attend. Our live demonstration of how to make wands was the center!

hp-eventThere were wizards dressed in their robes, in ball gowns, and wedding dresses. We talked with children and adults about our wooden and thermoformed wands. I was able to make wands while talking the entire time – are you kidding me, this is what I LOVE to do!

Since we were outside vendors, we couldn’t sell any wands, but we made some great connections and will sell a few in the coming days, I’m sure. We had three Girl Scouts come out as well as my co-leader, Rachel. I had three other friends come out and say hello, which was such so cool! I hate that I couldn’t get up and just hang out with them, but I was making wands the entire two and a half hours we were there. One of Bryan’s students was there and it was really cool to see pictures of his 3D dreamcatchers. I’ll have to find a link to share them with you all. We met a cosplayer who wants one of our wands personalized to reflect her house colors – shout out to my Ravenclaws!

It was really what we love the most, connecting with Harry Potter fans and wowing people with our wands. There were so many wonderful compliments and the sad faces when they found out they couldn’t take one home that night was proof that we are making a great craft.

I’m off to get ready for our craft show in the morning. We’ll see you all at the6th Annual Garner Great Gift Exchange Extravaganza tomorrow from 9am-2pm at 8228 Hebron Church Road Garner, NC 27529.

Just keep swimming!

Excited Kenna – with just a touch of, “Hey! There are 35 children between us but I want to hug you!”
